The UW Genocide Action Group exists to bring together people who wish to prevent genocide in the world. Genocide is the intentional and systematic extermination by violence of entire races, nations, and ethnic or political groups. It is the most vile crime that human beings can commit against each other and is happening in the world right now. Most people know about the Holocaust and the genocide in Rwanda, but don't properly understand the present threat. By educating people about these, and other, past genocides we seek to stop it in the present and prevent it in the future. We will do this through fundraisers, letter-writing campaigns, petitions, showing films, and bringing in guest speakers, as well as by any other means necessary.
